DIANIC INITIATION: A Year and a Day Study

Initiation into the Dianic tradition is available through Guardians of the Grove.

To initiate is to cause a process or action to begin. To Initiate is to declare oneself a beginner, knowing enough to continue the pursuit of knowledge, integrate and practice newly learned skills.  To initiate is to continue the opening of your sacred self as you open to Goddess and Her revealed mysteries.

Whether by formal initiation into the tradition, or by self-Initiation, this rite is about making a commitment to the Dianic path as your spiritual “home”. A student must have studied the Dianic tradition for a minimum of year and a day with Ruth Barrett, who offers these foundational classes. The rite of initiation is offered in-person on the holy day of Brigid in Southern California (the birthplace of our tradition), whereas self-initiation is a self-created ritual between you and Goddess. Formal initiation is by mutual consent between student and teacher. For more information, reach out to Ruth at info@guardiansofthegrove.org

For women who are interested in pursuing ordination as Temple of Diana clergy (Priestess), our in-person formal rite is required prior to ordination.

These are the required classes for initiation spread out throughout the year:

The classes listed as “new” are consolidated topics that have been offered separately and in greater detail. For students who have already taken these topics in their longer form, the requirement for initiation will have been met.
