CHANTS and ENCHANTMENT:

Exploring and Creating Chant for Women's Ritual

A 4-session series with Ruth Barrett

Sundays, Sept 26, October 3, 10, 17

from 4-6pm Eastern (1-3pm Pacific)

This new class series was inspired by the response to Ruth’s class on Women’s Magical Chant during our online Daughters of Diana Gathering in 2026.

As a ritualist, singer, and teacher of ritual-making, the use of song and chant within a personal or seasonal ritual is especially important to me as a magical and ritual skill. Music, song, and chant, when purposely considered, can serve a ritual by bringing participants into resonance, raising energy for spellwork, provide transitions from one part of the ritual focus to another, or the use of chant as incantation or meditation.

This series will explore what makes a “good” chant? What makes a specific chant “magical”? How does chant support a ritual or spell’s purpose? How should you discern which chant is appropriate for a specific working? We will also focus on creating original chants with specific intentions in mind: Women’s Mysteries, Wheel of the Year, Goddess and Elemental, Chants for women’s empowerment, etc.

Prerequisite: Some introduction to goddess and woman-centered spirituality and participation in women’s ritual is required for context. You do not need to be “a singer” to participate in this class. Bring your authentic voice and your heart.

TO REGISTER: The total cost for the class series is $130 - $150 (sliding, based on ability to pay). The class is limited to ten participants, please email Ruth at info@guardiansofthegrove.org before registering so she can confirm your space. Once your space is confirmed, please register. Registration closes September 15th, or until class is filled. Cancellations after the registration deadline cannot be refunded.
